Ag-West Bio, established in 1989, is Saskatchewan’s bioscience industry association and bioeconomy catalyst. Its mandate is to help move research to market and to grow biobusiness in the province. A not-for-profit and membership-based company, Ag-West Bio helps the bioscience community stay connected.
Ag-West Bio, BAM and PPAA will be collaborating on trade missions, marketing and co-ordination of other initiatives to grow the plant-protein and ingredient industry across Western Canada.
BIOSCIENCE ASSOCIATION MANITOBA (BAM)
BAM, established in 1990, is the voice and organizational nucleus of Manitoba’s bioscience industry. It represents 110 local organizations across the health, bioproduct, food, agriculture and clean-tech sectors. As a non-profit, BAM strives to grow Manitoba’s vibrant bioscience industry.
BAM, Ag-West Bio and PPAA will be collaborating on trade missions, marketing and co-ordination of other initiatives to grow the plant-protein and ingredient industry across Western Canada.
PROTEIN INDUSTRIES CANADA (PIC)
PIC is a federally funded organization created in early 2018 with the goal of encouraging investment in plant-protein and ingredient-processing across the Prairies, with product commercialization aimed at the global market.
PPAA, Ag-West Bio and BAM are all regional partners with PIC. In addition to $153-million from the federal government, PIC and its partners have raised about $150 million in venture-capital funding and $200 million in industry funding.
