PPAA launches search for new CEO

Plant Protein Alliance of Alberta is a thriving organization that is well-positioned to achieve its vision to secure the province’s plant-based industry as a leading driver of the economy.

Recently, PPAA has been engaged with several companies and investment groups to work toward greater development of the industry in Alberta. It has a presence in the industry with 23 strategic alliances — including across the prairies with similar organizations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba and with the federal supercluster, Protein Industries Canada. It has created a community of professionals through its well-regarded events and workshops and its recently launched webinars — in 2019, more than 2,500 businesses, investors and R&D organizations attended 13 events. PPAA’s growing membership is a diverse and dynamic network that covers the entire province.

As PPAA goes forward, Dennis McKnight, the current CEO, is moving to a strategic adviser position with the organization. McKnight has been a visionary all his career and was part of a group that saw the burgeoning potential of plant protein and helped establish the not-for-profit in May 2018. McKnight is a passionate networker and advocate, and he has worked tirelessly to build a strong foundation for PPAA.

Plant Protein Alliance of Alberta is now launching a search for a new CEO to lead PPAA through its next phase of growth.

PPAA has retained Pender & Howe Executive Search to lead the recruitment for their Chief Executive Officer.
